Looks like a fun party

Hey everybody! My name isSteve, and you may or may not know me from a blog I do over on Tumblr calledObscure Video Games. I enjoy digging up weird old games that most people have forgotten about and sharing my findings, usually in the form of animated GIFs. Some people have compared it to being a flasher on an elementary school playground; but, y’know,in a good way.

Today I bring to you averyJapansese game calledZoku Segare Ijiri.Enix (shortly before its merger with Square) released it in 2002 for the PS2 as the sequel to 1999’sSegare Iijirion the PS1. These two bizarre mini-game collections don’t really look that different from each other. The only things that seem to setZoku Segare Ijiriapart are slightly better graphics and the large piles of feces such as the one undulating seductively in the image above.

There was a time when that would have surprised me, but that time has long since passed. Japanese cartoon comedy is well known for its love of soft serve-style poops, andZoku Segare Iijirimakes no exceptions to the rule. The disembodied head in the background is wondering why nobody wanted to localize this for Western audiences. I know the feeling.

Sadly,Zoku Segare Ijiriis tough to come by these days. Most online retailers don’t carry it at all anymore, and those that do are charging afairly good amount for it. Also you would need a Japanese PS2 and fairly decent understanding of the language to figure out what’s happening. I must confess that I was barely able accomplish much in it at all (though I had a lot of fun trying). The mini-games included look enticing, ranging from a shmup, a soccer game, some sort of punk-rock board meeting, and even more punk-rock people doing something… naked? I can’t tell for sure, but if the rest of the game is anything to go by, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Any soft serve-style poop comedy lovers out there in the audience? If so, let us know and we’ll do out best to run a stream ofZoku Segare Iijiriin the future.Even if only five of you show up for the steam, it will still be worth it.
