I’ve been playing a fair bit ofWreckateer, finding it to be one of those rare Kinect games which manages to contain both casual appeal and strategic depth. Think it’s simple? Watch this video of the lead designer playing one of the stages with the aim of maximizing their score.
There’s a lot of finesse at work here, from the amount of tension on the launch of a shot to the fast, careful application of the magic gauntlets to move the shots in air. I’m not anywhere near this level of skill, but I’m rather motivated to get there after seeing what’s possible.
If you’ve already got one of those Kinect things in your house, just get the game. You’ll not feel quite as bad about your investment.
