Bigger and better version

June 07, 2025 sounds like a nice release date forTowerFall Ascension, doesn’t it? That’s when PlayStation 4 and Steam players will be able to buy Matt Thorson’s deceptively simple-looking arena deathmatch game. Those of you in Europe awaiting the PS4 version will have a slightly longer wait, “but it shouldn’t be far behind.”

Ascensionmost notably has a single-player/cooperative mode in addition to its bread-and-butter Versus Mode. You can also expect a trial mode thatChris describesas being akin toSmash Bros.‘ “break the targets,” more weapons, maps, and characters.

I was one of the 5,000 or so people to playTowerFallon Ouya. Thank goodness it’s no longer restricted to that platform, to put it nicely. The new Quest Mode is exactly the type of thing I was hoping would be added to help in times of friendlessness, so this is a buy.
