It’s no secret thatStardew Valleyis the responsibility of a small developer. Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone was busy trying to get the hotly anticipated1.6 update out for PC, which finally went live in March. Since then, they’ve been promising patches for the console and mobile ports of the game, though they haven’t emerged yet.

Patience is very much appreciated from Barone, and a recent post on Twitter/X is keeping us in the loop onStardew Valley1.6 for console and mobile. The latest is that the developer is “doing everything within my power to have the ports ready as soon as possible.”

I know that the console and mobile players are eager to play 1.6, and I am doing everything within my power to have the ports ready as soon as possible. The ports require extra work beyond the PC version. There is also another patch for PC underway which is mainly some bug fixes

There’s still no release date yet, but the fact of the matter is: “the ports require extra work beyond the PC version.” The important thing is that it’s being worked on, but being a small outfit, it’s understandable that it takes time to deliver huge updates.

In the meantime, PC users will have another patch coming their way soon. The post above goes on to say that more bug fixes are in the pipeline. The game is already on version 1.6.6, so it sounds like 1.6.7 is hopefully being sent out soon.

Stardew Valleyis one of the most successful games on the indie scene. Released in 2016, and with a currentSteamreview score of “Overwhelmingly Positive,” Barone’s life simulator has been a breath of fresh air, offering a chill gameplay environment in an idyllic and colorful setting.

The 1.6 update does add a huge amount of new content and some changes to the game, which is why console and mobile players are so keen to get their hands on it. Rest assured, Barone is on the case, and it’ll be ready when it’s ready.
