InSplatoon 3, the part-time party never stops
In today’sSplatoon 3Direct, we got a deep-dive on many of the modes coming to the nextSplatoon. And one returning mode fromSplatoon 2is getting a few big upgrades, including one major one: it’s available any time, all the time.
For those who playedSplatoon 2, you’ll remember that the co-op Salmon Run mode was a timed event. Special windows would be open only at set times to play the PvE mode.

Well, according to theSplatoonsite,Splatoon 3‘s Salmon Run mode is available any time. So yes, that means you won’t have to set a time and date for those part-time jaunts into Salmonid territory.
During today’s Direct, we also got a look at a few of the special enemies that will be causing problems for the Golden Egg collectors. These Boss Salmonids have special moves and weaknesses, like the barrier-popping, lid-dropping Slammin’ Lid. Or the mortar-launching Big Shot, who seems like a big problem if left unattended.

These new bosses add a little extra challenge, and on top of that, there are King Salmonids. According to today’s Direct, this special event can sometimes occur at the end of a job. You have to do as much damage as possible within a time limit to drive back the big bad, using special Golden Egg Cannons.
The Big Run is another special event that occurs once “every few months,” where Salmonids invade the city. Functionally, it looks like that means playing Salmon Run on regularSplatoonmaps. It looks pretty exciting, but there is one update that’s big for any Salmon Run fan.

Don’t stop me now
Evenmore was shown offduring today’sSplatoon3Direct, includingnew amiibo coming this holiday seasonand aspecial card game modethat’s being added to the action. It looks like next month is going to be one heck of a dive back into the inky world ofSplatoon.
