Nintendo’stireless Masahiro Sakuraiisn’t so tireless after all and is, instead, a human being who needs better working conditions. TheSuper Smash Bros. creator has already said that he probablywon’t make anotherSmashbecause, “all the effort in the past to stretch out, keep pushing myself, and provide all these extra merits wound up tightening the noose around my neck in the future.”
In hisWeekly Famitsucolumn, picked up byKotaku, Sakurai again discussed how development on the latestSmashwore him to the bone. He responded to a fan letter that glorified how hard Sakurai had worked on the new titles thusly,
“It was very tough this time around… I doubt I’ll be able to go on making games if it continues like this. But, I consider myself lucky that so many people seem to enjoy [Smash Bros.]”
