Japanese publisher Kadokawa has announced that the stars of FromSoftware’s tough-as-nails adventure titleSekiro: Shadows Die Twiceare set to appear in an upcoming manga adaptation, which will release in Japan at the end of next month.

Sekiro Gaiden: Shinazu Hanbei(orSekiro Side-Story: Hanbei the Undying) will be a prequel tale from artist Shin Yamamoto, previously responsible for theMonster HuntermangaSenkou no Karidou. Details are vague as toHanbei the Undying’snarrative, though it appears to feature an encounter between Hanbei and the Sword Saint, Isshin Ashina. FromSoft will be on-hand to supervise the manga’s realisation.

Although no plans have been announced to localise the comic for the west,it has been licensed by U.S. publisher Yen Press. So hopefully forSekirofans an English translation will be forthcoming.Sekiro Gaiden: Shinazu Hanbeiis expected to release in Japan May 27.
