Space Invaders Infinity Genestands alongsidePac-Man Championship Edition DXandGalaga Legions DXas one of the best modern re-imaginings of a classic arcade title. All of those games share a certain subtle rhythm that sneaks into your brain. It looks like the next game fromInfinity Gene‘s creator may not be as subtle with the rhythm. It’s calledGroove Coaster, and all we know is it’s promised to be “anexhilarating next-gen groove game”, and that Taito is promoting it with an image of a space invader wearing headphones.
I really hope that the game does forSpace InvaderswhatBit.Trip BEATandFLUXdid forPong. The blending of simple, skills-based gameplay with a focus on rhythm rarely fails to enthrall. I’m guessing that, likeInfinity Gene, the game will hit the iOS first, and come to PSN and XBLA sometime after. Stay tuned to Destructoid for more as it comes in.
