Cheating never pays…except for today

The launch ofnewer, betteranti-cheat measures forPlayerUnknown’s Battlegroundshas suffered a delay. Announced on Twitter, it looks like players will have to wait an undisclosed amount of time for the mega-popularPUBGto finally get on with finally tackling hackers.

PC players, the patch for the anti-cheat update has been delayed, as an unexpected issue has occurred while testing its compatibility. We will soon update you when it will be released. Thank you for your understanding.

The sad thing is, I can’t say I’m surprised. I understand that cheating is a massive problem and that coming up with any kind of effective solution will be difficult, but these steps clearly took a back seat to things like better loot box implementation. I won’t go so far as to say that PUBG Corp. is greedy, but cheating issues really should have been sorted out by now. The game is nearing a year since its early-access release (and closing in on two months since “full” release), but it still feels like a work-in-progress.
