Evolve’s intro cinematic is a clinic in smokin’ stogies like a champ

They should’ve named this game ‘Monster Hunter’ Evolve‘s opening cinematic is…well, it’s pretty much everything you’d expect. It’s a gussied-up version of the game as if it were being played like it’s supposed to. You know, a team acting as a team instead of one guy running off to do his own thing, another player idle to rack up XP, and two people legitimately trying to fight a giant monster....

Final Fantasy XIV now has a Dragon Ball style power-up emote

Power Level i370 Square Enix packs a ton of regularly updated content intoFinal Fantasy XIVvia patches, but they occasionally also craft some great premium cosmetics. While I haven’t purchased anything yet from the store myself, a few of the new offerings — the power-up emote, songbird emote, two new outfits, and the eastern cherry petal pile/Little Ladies’ Day poster are tempting. Most of these are on-theme to celebratethe Little Ladies Day event, which kicked off on March 1, and will run through March 14....

Ghost Recon Future Soldier drops a creepy new trailer

When you hear “creepy” and “Ghost Recon” in the same sentence, it might make you think of how easily a special forces unit could infiltrate your home and slit your throat while you sleep. But this trailer is a different sort of creepy, as it mirrors one young man’s obsession with in-game gun customization to a masturbatory addiction. The trailer itself is basically a rehash of all the featureswe saw during Microsoft’s 2011 E3 conference, mishmashed with a “support group” setting....

Helldivers 2 fix puts Arc back on the menu, but some players want more

Today’sHelldivers 2Patch 1.000.104 provides a handful of fixes for arc weaponry but doesn’t quite deliver what all players wanted in terms of stability. It’s no secret thatHelldivers 2has more than a few bugs. Afterthe last patch, it felt as though Arrowhead Game Studios had fixed a few issues but added many more that caused complete crashes. The game has been pretty unstable, making for a very trying experience for some who played over the weekend....

Hotline Miami Collection comes sleazin’ onto Xbox One

The real Rip and Tear release Developer Dennaton Games, alongside publisher Devolver Digital, has released its sickening, sun-splashedHotline Miami Collectionon the Xbox One platform, bringing all of its nihilistic violence and hazy, lurid atmosphere to the Microsoft console. It’s difficult for me to imagine there’s anybody unaware of these twitchy top-down shooters, but for those of you yet to overdose on the 2012 indie release and its 2015 sequel, now is the perfect time to ride the rancid rainbow....

Immortal Redneck, a game that’s way better than it sounds, is coming to Switch

Also PS4 and Xbox One Initially turned off by the outlandish name, I really took toImmortal Redneckin the middle of 2017 when it hit Steam. It’s just a dumb, fun roguelike FPS, one that hearkens back to the glory days of arena shooters with some modern twists. The developer, Crema, also did a great job of keeping the game updated throughout the year. Now they’re moving onto the process of porting the thing, and as it turns out we’re getting a PS4 (with “Pro enhancements”) and Xbox One edition on August 10, 2025, with a Switch version to follow in the first quarter....
