Who should we believe? The Insomniac-developed PlayStation 4 exclusiveSpider-Mangame has been at the center of a tangled web of misinformation today. For a bit — just a very little bit — it was announced to be releasing later this year. Then it was immediately countered. On a live stream (and as reported onreddit), Marvel vice president and executive editor of digital media Ryan Penagos casually mentioned thatSpider-Manwould ship in 2017. This was news to everyone, as a release date had never been stated....

PUPUPUPU! While not much is known about the upcoming 3DS gameAttack on Titan 2: Future Coordinates, publisher Spike Chunsoft probably created the most terrifying crossover imaginable. For those not in the know,Attack on Titanis an anime series that features gigantic human-like creatures assaulting a walled civilization of people. The titans, as they are referred to, are typically 30 ft tall and can wreak havoc on just about anything. Now imagine blowing upDanganronpa’sdiabolical Monokuma to 30 ft and unleashing him on the world....

People love to criticize gaming blogs. They are an incredibly easy target, thanks to the fact that they are edited by people who are not “proper” journalists, there are so many of them, and there are a huge amount of sub-par, poorly written and badly formatted sites out there, ensuring that gaming communities and real “games journalists” will always look down their noses at blogs for being illegitimate stepsons of the “proper” games media....

Gotta go back in time Futurlabhas announceda new crossover endeavor for the instant classicPowerWash Simulator. This time, you’ll be tasked with cleaning the grime off of the ‘80s hit movieBack to the Future. After finally clawing its way out of the muck of Early Access in 2022,PowerWash Simulatorhas crossed over with a number of properties. This includes games likeTomb RaiderandFinal Fantasy VIIremake and, most recently,Spongebob Squarepants. There’s even aWarhammer 40Kcrossover lined up....

Still enjoyable, though As the virtual reality races wages on, different prototypes keep coming out for Project Morpheus and Oculus Rift. I had yet another chance to play two new titles on Project Morpheus at Tokyo Game Show. While they were certainly unique in their own right, it’s tough not to feel as if Oculus is a bit ahead of Sony’s project. The first game that we played wasThe Deep– a shark attack simulator....

Par for the heavens The story of how Square Enix turnedFinal Fantasy XIVaround is still incredible to me. I always tell people about playing it at E3 in 2010 for the very first time, pre-Realm Reborn, and how it was one of the least fun MMOs I’ve ever experienced. Now here I am years later, after the relaunch, with theHeavenswardexpansion as one of my most anticipated games of 2015. So far, I haven’t been disappointed....

Teyonhas announcedthatRoboCop: Rogue Cityis getting a content update that will include new game plus, a new difficulty, and an Auto9 skin. It’s available now on PC, with the console versions getting it tomorrow. RoboCop: Rogue Citywas apleasant surpriselast year. The licensed title went on to win a prestigious “On Zoey’sfavorite games of 2023 list” award, one of the most unprestigious honors in the industry. One complaint I did have about the game is that I wanted to play it again after I completed it, but I didn’t want to start over from scratch....

More DLC It’s sad that the DLC train forKirby Star Alliesis coming to an end soon, but I soldier on nonetheless. I will hold out hope that this is the future model for allKirbygames going forward: nearly a year of free DLC. Water-cooled phones! It truly is the future Today, Samsung revealed the Galaxy S7 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Although the phone brings back multiple features missing from the S6, including water resistance, it contains multiple game-centric features that move the S7 closer to a PC. The most prominent one is a liquid-cooling system, albeit a scaled-down version. According to a report fromCNET, “the sealed copper cooling system will do its best to shift excess heat away from the S7’s processor when games push things to the phone’s thermal limits....

It’s doubtful they’ll ever return to the real console hustle This past week, folks were pretty stoked to learn from Sega COO Kenji Matsubara (by way of Yahoo! Japan) that Sega would be releasing “a new console” in the region. As most of us expected a new, actual Sega console is not going to happen. Rather, Matsubara was referring to the existing AtGames Sega Genesis Flashback — a sort of NES/SNES Mini competitor that comes pre-loaded with 85 games, and can accept game carts....
