Casual players might find it overwhelming Like many of you, I expectedPokkén Tournament to play likeTekkenbut with Pokémon in the ring instead of the usually assortment of robots, animals, and other eccentrics from Namco’s long-running fighting franchise. Boy was I wrong.Pokkénhas some elements in common withNaruto Shippuden,Dead or Alive,Marvel vs. Capcom, but not much about it feels likeTekken. More than anything, I’ve been taken aback by how much breadth and depth there is to be found here....

I was okay with just having it on 3DS After launching on the 3DS in 2012,Resident Evil: Revelationshas found its home on PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360, and now — PS4 and Xbox One. It’ll drop sometime this fall on the latter two platforms, and you can get a good (smooth) look at it with these two videos, which showcase action and exploration elements respectively. If it’s all the same, unless I get a copy to check it out for you amazing folks, I’m good....

Twitter appears to be the glass house of the Internet, and the latest to casually throw the gossip stone is a Gearbox Software level designer who has beenheavily indicatingthat the Texas studio’s next project could be an XBLA title. According to the designer, he had just seen Gearbox’s “XBLA character rigged” and declared that he was “incredibly happy” with what he saw. He also appeared to be doing a little focus work beforehand, asking his Twitter followers what XBLA games they enjoyed playing....

Sequel and compilation. That’s the words that wouldn’t fit into our headline space. This is a very loose rumor at this point, but the optimist in me has me running it anyway. The rumor is that the Xbox 360 will see some epic role-playing game action at E3. First off isa sequel toValkyrie Profile, coming from Square Enix.Go Fanboysays that it will be shown in video form in Microsoft’s E3 opener....

Since being revealed asSNK’s mystery EVO title, more details about the somewhat forgotten entry in the series have come out and piqued my interest. As detailed in thisPlayStation Blogpost,Samurai Shodown Vnever got a fair shake when it was launched.Vwas SNK’s attempt at a darker and grittier take on the series with the introduction of blood-splattering overkill moves similar toMortal Kombat’s famous Fatalities....

Hot from SDCC is the news thatJak and DaxterandHot Shots Golfbattlegrounds are confirmed for the upcoming crossover brawlerPlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. You’ve got to love that golf. Joining the game’s list of playable characters is Cole frominFamous. He’ll come equipped with the expected electric attacks, but now he’s also throwing ice around. The report from the SDCC panel is that he’ll be a “mid-range character that is versatile and has a lot of projectiles....

Heck yes, this game Oh my goooddd. How did I miss this until now? It’s like aNausicaagame. Thank you sirShovel Knightfor making a cross over appearance (above) inAegis Defenders, which is how it came to my attention. TheKickstarteralready passed its initial funding goal and its PS4 stretch goal. Local co-op and a Wii U version are up next. Here’s hoping. This looks amazing.

Well, more precisely, at EA Play Last month’s long-awaited reveal ofStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderwas met with a mixed reception. On the one hand, developer Respawn gave us a bunch of information. It’s an action melee combat game that follows a new Padawan, Cal, who’s fighting the Empire from the shadows. This, combined with the cinematic trailer, had a lot of people excited. But, on the other hand, we didn’t actually get to see the game....

Recently, I’ve had to accept the fact that if I’m not already playingStar Wars: The Old Republicby a certain time in the evening, I won’t be playing it again that night. The game’s servers are absolutely stuffed to the gills, despite EA rolling out early access to ensure a smooth launch. The average waiting time is between forty and sixty minutes, althoughCVG‘s reported some users getting hit with two hour delays....

While my memory is a little foggy on the subject, I do recall there being some very frustrating portions of theDonkey Kong Countrygames. It was a simpler time, of course, and I would have either soldiered on through or abandoned the enterprise in favor of something fun. Both probably occurred in equal measure. But things won’t have to be that frustrating inDonkey Kong Country Returns. The series’ revival will be featuring Nintendo’s “instant-win” feature, Super Guide....
