DespiteSerious Sam 3promising to fight piracy simply bybeing an awesome game, it turns out that developer Croteam has snuck some DRM in there. Fortunately, it’s the best kind of DRM — the kind that only affects illegal copies, and hilariously trolls pirates. If your copy ofSerious Sam 3: BFEhas not been obtained through the official channels, a miniature pink Arachnoid will chase you throughout the game. The gun-toting scorpion cannot be killed, and it will pursue the player at a rapid pace....

Also phones and tablets Sony is producing variousPhantom Pain-branded electronics to coincide with the release ofMetal Gear Solid V. The tie-in release includes aMetal Gearversion of Sony’s premier Walkman, the ZX2, which costs something like$1,128. Holy shit. The high-end device is meant for audiophiles, naturally, and costs that much irrespective ofMetal Gearbranding, though the branded one comes with wallpapers, songs, the title written on the front, and an Outer Heaven leather case....

A million bucks didn’t plug this leak Star Citizen, the game that’s managed to crowdfund enough money to buy a small country, has suffered a pretty substantial leak of assets. Accordingto Reddit, a community manager for developer Cloud Imperium Games accidentally release part of a URL linking to Cryengine assets to be used in the game. A fan managed to guess the rest of the URL and managed to download 40GB of assets before CIG noticed and took it down....

For a game that was built in collaboration with AMD, it seems surprising that it’s taken this long forStarfieldto support FidelityFX Super Resolution 3. However, the most recent update now makes it compatible with the image upscaling algorithm. But of course, there’s a slight catch. The recentpatch notes, as well as a message on Twitter/X, show that Bethesda has finally enabled the option for FSR 3. The slight downside to this is that it’s only released in Steam Beta, but at least it’s started rolling out now, I guess....

I think it’s fair to say that most wouldn’t exactly callStarfielda bad game. It had (has?) its moments, but it’s generally a bit “meh.” Even if you do really like it, it’s certainly a far cry from what Todd Howard (and, indeed, Bethesda on the whole) was pushing for in terms of the next big thing from theSkyrimstudio. However, the team is sticking with it, and the first major DLC for the game is coming soon....

When asked aboutAgent,that one nebulous PS3 exlusivethat may or may not exist, Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick replied, “We haven’t announced anything about that title.” Zelnick then followed up with insisting that the game was still in development. Well, that’s better than nothing I suppose. Or is it? I’m hard pressed to find anyone who is truly still excited for this game,as even living, breathing screenshot proofcouldn’t really muster any enthusiasm out of the gaming community....

Intends to release Homeworld on Steam and iOS, and make Homeworld 3 With the recentbankruptcy of THQ, the studios and franchises they owned are being auctioned off. WhileSega just boughtRelic Entertainment, it’s possible that the rights toHomeworldmight still belong to THQ. Relic was the studio that had the rights to the strategy series,but it hasn’t been specifically mentioned as one of the games or franchises that Sega acquired. While it’s unclear who exactly has the rights at this moment, we do know that an indie mobile developer named TeamPixel wants to get a hold of it....

A feast for fans and/or crows Hot on the heels of itsTales from the Borderlandsannouncement, Telltale got back on this year’s VGX to show a brief teaser trailer announcing another property it is working on:Game of Thrones. Talking with Geoff Keighley and Joel McHale, Telltale revealed that it would be based on the HBO show rather than straight from the book series. Mentioned in the interview was thatGame of Throneswould feature traditional Telltale adventure gameplay, but also include massive infantry battles in some capacity....
