Ashort teaser videosees the ancient, ornate chest that is Gizmo’s home open up in response to the sound of cavorting mayhem, suggesting that the sweet lol’ fuzzball is headed toMultiVersusin order to keep his arch nemesis, Stripe, in line....

Blink and you’ll miss ’em though Sometimes, gameplay premieres come in the strangest forms – and it appears that our first sneak peek at Capcom’s upcoming sequelResident Evil Villagehas arrived via a celebrity-endorsed PS5 commercial, as spotted byGematsu. The ad features the first-person horror title as played by tennis pro Naomi Osaka, who appears to have mastered a balance between being terrified while remaining super-chill. First time at European expo in four years Nintendo has revealed that it will be in attendance for this year’s Gamescom, which is scheduled to take place in Germany in August — As confirmed by Koelnmesse and The German Games Industry Association, The House of Mario will make its return at the annual event, marking the first time in four years that the publisher has made the trip to the European expo....

In something of a curious move, it appears that Codemasters has announced that it will no longer support FPSOperation Flashpoint: Dragon Risingwith DLC after the release of two downloadable expansions. In a recent Codemastersofficial message board post, community manager ‘Helios’ revealed that theFlashpointteam was finished with the ‘Dragon Rising’ “chapter” of the series and “that’s it for DR-related content going forward.” He added that the team is “already busy planning thefutureof modern combat,” which tickles us a little....

Everyone is here! As we previouslyreported, Atlus revealed the first trailer for the upcomingPersona Q2today, now known asPersona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth. While we were only shown glimpses of the game itself, the casts ofPersona 3and4will be joining the Phantom Thieves ofPersona 5,along with a couple new faces. For Mega Man I-V After quite a bit of work, modder Zynk Oxhyde has finished his Roll sprite hack for all five Game BoyMega Mangames. The hacks use custom sprite work in addition to the original source material, and Rush has been replaced by Tango the cat, who to date has only appeared in several other games — includingMega Man V. There’s also a new character (Quart, an evil Roll that’s a play on Quint, the evil future version ofMega Man) and some minor gameplay improvements....

The team can now ‘focus’ on finishing the game Riot Games has an answer toMinecraftandRoblox, and it’s calledHytale. The creator ofLeague of LegendsandValorantannouncedthat it has acquired Hypixel Studios, the team behindHytale, a bound-to-be-huge sandbox RPG that’s scheduled to release for PC in 2021. “Hytalecombines the scope of a sandbox with the depth of a role-playing game, immersing players in a procedurally generated world where teetering towers and deep dungeons promise rich rewards....

Sega HQ in Japan says that they’re bracing for “extraordinary loss” for the fiscal year ending tomorrow, and will launch a plan to reform the company to be smaller and tighter, with a cost to the company coming in at around 7.1 billion yen ($86.5b USD). Sega says that amid the “severe economic environment” in the US and Europe they’re forced to implement a restructuring that will streamline organizations and cancel some games....

If there’s one thing to be said aboutSkyrim, it’s that it’s a pretty game. From day one (cast your minds waaaay back), it’s been held aloft for its visual qualities. Okay, the vanilla release has aged massively, but we have ways of milking this RPG cow. First Square Enix snaps upTomb Raider‘s daddy,Eidos. And now they could be looking to buy up another games company. Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada told the Financial Times that he may not be done shopping yet. And he may continue looking west after picking up Eidos. “The combination of Eidos and Square Enix gives us a good platform from which to expand. In that process, we might decide to acquire another company,” Mr Wada said....
