I may have gotten my wish, as Square seems to be going full-throttle with theBravelyseries. A new game is coming calledBravely Archive: D’s Report, and it’s set to hit the Android and iOS platforms....

Destructoid interview: Sonic Unleashed

A few weeks ago, Destructoid was lucky enough to get a Q&A session withSonic UnleashedproducerYoshihisa Hashimoto. I got to ask him about fan reaction to the Werehog, whether or notSonicneeds an involved storyline, and just how he addresses criticism fromSonicfans and the press. Unfortunately, with Hashimoto being an understandably busy chap, the interview questions sent two weeks ago did not get back to me until today. As such, a few obsolete questions have been removed, while a couple of moments within the interview might still be a little out-of-date....

Yokuso, panapticon! A week beforeMonster Hunter: Worldlaunches, I look back on my time with the series. The demo for4Uwas amazing, to be sure, but what’sMonster Hunterwithout camaraderie? Fan game Castlevania: Seal of the Eclipse looks sick, and I hope we’re lucky enough to play it

Worst case, this fan game is a cool what-if Fan games are a tricky balancing act on multiple fronts. Living up to players’ expectations after releasing a cool trailer, feeling on-brand without being too much of a retread, and just generally finishing the project before the well-meaning team’s passion dries up or the license holder’s wrath is incurred — the list of pitfalls stretches on and on. Just because a team has a great idea for a fan game and a willing audience that’s extremely ready to hop in, there are no guarantees that their vision will make it out into the world....

Gears of War’s Horde mode is greatly enhanced by adding classes

Think for once When it comes toGears of War, all the variation is in the weapons. Each character operates the exact same, it’s just the armaments that change gameplay. Someone toting a Boomshot is going to maneuver very differently than someone sporting a Gnasher. This is pretty standard stuff for online shooters. Gears of War‘s third take on Horde mode does away with that. Sort of. This is a class-based affair: Five types of soldiers, each with their own functions, but also all very much like the same characters the franchise has always put at the forefront....
