Having run the Nintendo Download column every Thursday for the past several years, I always think about how they could have handled this generation differently. Imagine if there was an “all you may eat” Virtual Console service that undercut Sony’s PlayStation Now, for a small fee?
How many people would look into that and buy a Wii U or 3DS just for that reason? Why would Nintendo instead drip feed one or two classic games a month, tops, when that’s what they’re best at? Alas, another classicZeldagame is out on Wii U this week, so it’s…something I guess!
The Wii u is getting a pair of old powerhouses today actually —Super Meat BoyandPhantom Hourglass. That’s in addition toColor Symphony 2, 8-Bit Hero, Tachyon Project, Queens Garden, and theMinecraft Mario Mash-Up Pack.
