Nintendo has just announced a new intiiative to cater to indie games called Nindies@Home. The basic idea is dead simple — starting right now until the oddly specific 8:59 AM PST on June 22, you can download demos for select games on Wii U. If you happen to own a demo at the time of a game’s release, you can net a sweet 15% discount on that title for up to one month after launch. Make sure you link your Nintendo ID properly for it to work.

So what games are on the table? Well, there’sExtreme Exorcism, forma.8, Freedom Planet, Lovely Planet, Mutant Mudds Super Challenge, RIVE, Runbow, Soul Axiom, andTypoman. Some of these are exclusive to Nintendo, and a few are multiplatform. Whatever you decide to download, we’ve played a handful and will share our thoughts later today.
