TheMetroidseries’ 25th anniversary came and went without so much as some silly streamers in the Nintendo offices. As is the case when a company fails to acknowledge its own legacy, the fans came together for a proper celebration. InMetroid‘s case, the fan collectiveShinesparkersreleased a free, two-disc album,Harmony of a Hunter, that featured arrangements of various tunes from across the entire franchise. If you loveMetroidand never downloaded this, what’s wrong with you?Do it now!
Just as Samus builds her arsenal with expansions,Harmony of a Hunteris receiving an expansion of its own, entitled101% Run. It’s a follow-up album that contains several tunes that unfortunately weren’t covered in the original release, as well as additional jams. Several artists from the first album will return, but there will also be new contributors, such as the mind-explodingVomitron.

If all goes according to plan,101% Runwill be released by year’s end; you can follow its progress via theHarmony of a HunterFacebook page.
