The Yellow Wind Sage is the final boss of Chapter 2 inBlack Myth: Wukong. He’s no pushover by any means, and can quickly toss you around to your death if you aren’t careful in your approach.

He’s definitely a lot tougher than every other boss up until this point, but there are ways to make the Yellow Wind Sage fight a lot easier. Here’s what you need to know.

How to beat the Yellow Wind Sage in Black Myth Wukong

To start off, it’s highly recommended tocomplete the Drunken Pig’s quest. At the end of it, you’ll be rewarded with the Wind Tamer Vessel. It can replace the Fireproof Mantle that was obtained from the previous chapter.

This item is very crucial because it gives you huge damage reduction while it’s active, and it gives you immunity to strong winds. Those winds are what make this fight against the Yellow Wind Sage very annoying.

As you start the fight, approach and attack him like you normally would. The setup I went with was mostly a light attack combo build whileusing the Immobilize spell for free damage per combo.

While that is on cooldown, switch to your transformation and try to deal as much damage before you’re damaged out of it or run out of Might. you’re able to also take advantage of transforming to negate all damage done to you.

Once the Sage starts conjuring up the sand tornado all over the arena, activate the Wind Tamer. It’ll stun him for a few seconds, allowing you to get a few free hits before he picks himself back up.

While active, you may feel more comfortable getting hit by him as you’ll take reduced damage. Just don’t get greedy because he can still dish quite a lot of damage, especially during his teleporting, statue dive, and tornado rush phases.

Other than when he turns into sand, you only have to look out for when he does stomp attack. Getting hit by that at 50% can kill you. With all the crazy moves he does, you should only really attack him when he isn’t conjuring anything up. He’ll fight like a normal boss without all the extra gimmicks.

Best setup against the Yellow Wind Sage

If you want a solid build to deal with the Yellow Wind Sage, try respeccing your skill points to focus on theStamina tree from the Foundation section and the Smash Stance from the Staff Stances menu.

Build up yourFocusby hitting the boss with a flurry of Light attacks. After three or so hits, back off before he hits you. However, if you have theComposureskill in the Stamina tree, you’re able to dodge in between your combo to resume it after a dodge.

If you perform a triple Light attack into a Charged Focus attack combo, you can stagger the Yellow Wind Sage and get another free combo off him. It’s also safer if you can do this whileusing the Immobilize spellto keep him in place.

Since you’re using Light attacks for the majority of the fight, you should use theOpportune Watcher skill for Craving Eyes, building up your Focus a lot quicker.

Finally, you should make sure you have upgraded yourCelestial Medicine level in Stamina Recovery and Defenseas high as you can. It’ll help you dodge more and take more hits if your timing isn’t great.
