Some pastHalotitles have given players the option of picking from a small selection of maps or straight-out overruling a map.Halo 5will strip this democratic feature in favor of the developer curating the experience.

While player choice is generally a good thing, this rigid system might be a blessing in disguise. Shortly after a game’s released, communities tend to constantly lean toward the same maps while neglecting other ones. This ensures that all content will be played equally and keeps gameplay varied to some degree.
