Thelong-delayed releaseofGoodbye, Volcano Highis finally upon us. As part of Sony’s February 2023 State of Play, KO_OP has revealed that its doors willopen on Aug 10, 2025.
Dropping along with this bit of news is a trailer that shows us some of the dramatic tension our dinosaur teens are going to get into.Goodbye, Volcano Highwraps your typical high school stories of relationships, rock bands, and the impending demise of civilization into a narrative game that is also showing off some of its rhythm game chops.
I haven’t been paying too much attention toGoodbye, Volcano High, but it’s looking pretty good to me. I like the aesthetic, I like the music, and I like rhythm games. My only issue is that some of the imagery and dialogue remind me of my high school experience, which was a horrific parade of trauma that I’m still sweeping up after. Please excuse me while I go dry heave up all my latent anxiety for a moment.
