Have the urge to steal but want to steal something cool? Well, all the cool kids are stealing game consoles.
I don’t know why the FBI is tracking this, but they say that the theft of videogame consoles has risen 285 percent since 2007. Again, I had no idea they were counting, but they say that 2007 saw 11,074 systems stolen. That sounds like a lot, but it rose to 21,732 in 2008 and almost doubled to 42,615 in 2009.
They guess that this is due to the portable size of the…portables, which kid of makes sense. Small targets that would sell for a decent amount is what I’d steal if I were a thieving as*hole.
