One of the staple “go-to” games in the Carter household isFruit NinjaKinect— it seems as if I’m not alone, as Halfbrick’s Phil Larsen has just announced that the game has topped one million downloads (that’s not even including any of their iOS sales!). I can easily see how this would sell, given how simple it is to pick up and play — it also speaks volumes of the [still] active Kinect fanbase, since the game 100% requires the device.
I couldn’t be more excited for Halfbrick. In the few times I’ve talked to Phil Larsen, I thought he was incredibly cordial,Jetpack Joyrideis one of the best games on iOS, and I thoughtRaskullswas one of the most fun downloadable games in recent memory. The Kinect may not have been a smashing hit with more dedicated gamers like myself, but I’ll be damned if it isn’t a good diversion every so often, thanks to developers like Halfbrick.
