ACE Team, the guys behind the upcomingZeno Clash, have announced that due to the ridiculous stress and time it took to makeZC, they’re going to be shifting gears and focusing on point and click adventure games, as they have shorter development cycles and they’ll be able to pump more of them out. I suppose I can’t really blame them, since I imagine the two straight years of sleepless nights have taken a heavy toll on all the members of the team.
In case you’re nervous about the direction they’re taking, they’ve released their first game,The Malstrums Mansion, for free on their website. If this game is any indication of the kind of work they’re going to be putting out in the future, I’d say this change in direction is a good thing.Zeno Clashwas pretty good, but I think this game blows it out of the water. They’re looking for feedback, so once you play it head on over to their forums and let them know what you think!
Take note gamers: April 1st, 2009 is the day that ACE Team officially became the greatest developer in the world.
