Maybe you saw our review of theXI Chipsalbum— FINAL FANTASY XI Chiptune –– in ourNote Worthy featureearlier this month. We loved the 8-bit demakes of our favorite tracks fromFinal Fantasy XI, but were a little annoyed that the album wasn’t more widely available. We were even more bummed whenwe learnedSquare Enix was planningVII Chips,VIII, Chips,IX Chips, andX Chipsto celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary taking place this year.
Well, be envious no longer, as we’ve received word directly from Square Enix that all five (VII–XI)Chipsalbums will be available shortly in theNorth AmericanandEuropeanSquare Enix e-Stores as well. Speaking from experience on theXI Chipsalbum, I can say this is great news, and I’m looking forward to getting my hands on the remaining items in the collection.

I was thinking, could this be extended to the SNES titles in the franchise as well? Perhaps they skipped them thinking 16-bit game music was retro enough, but I’d sure buy it! Will you be picking any of these up when they hit an e-Store near you?
