Jonathas is an NPC in Old Gridania (X:10.6, Y:6.2) who was added toFFXIVin patch 2.0, and was originally intended to give players new items in exchange for Achievement Certificates. However, it was relatively easy to purchase all of his wares very quickly and forget that he existed because he never had anything new added.

This changed in patch 7.1 when some new things were actually made available through Jonathas, including the “Water” emote, otherwise known as “Flowerbed Maintenance“, which can be purchased for just 2 Achievement Certificates.
