Izanagi Gameshas announcedthat its realm-defying mysteryDeath Come Truewill launch on PS4 October 15, following on from its earlier release on PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
Directed byDanganronpacreator Kazutaka Kodaka,Death Come Trueis an interactive FMV title about a young man who awakens in an opulent hotel suite, wanted for a string of brutal murders and with the police hot on his heels. With no recollection of who he is, how he got here, or why there is an unconscious woman lying in his bathtub, our hero must stay one step ahead of his pursuers if he is to get to the bottom of this weird, time-bending mystery.
In our recent review, I foundDeath Come Trueto bean engaging, but short-lived experience, which pushes past some of its gameplay frustrations with a well-shot “movie” featuring solid performances from its slight cast of characters. A little pricey at $16,Death Come Trueis still an interesting way to pass an evening, and hopefully plants seeds for more similar but deeper experiences down the line.
Death Come Trueis available digitally on PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS and Android devices. It launches on PS4 October 15. A physical release has been confirmed for Japan.
