Boring name for a studio: NCsoft NorCal. Cooler name: Paragon Studios. That’s what the currentCity of Heroesdeveloper, formerly known as NCsoft NorCal, announced it were renaming its studio today.
“The renaming of our studio to Paragon Studios represents our devotion to the present and future of theCity of Heroesseries,” said NCSoft Norcal’s Paragon Studio’s Brian Clayton.

Paragon City isCity of Heroes‘ fictional in-game metropolis in which good people in tights fight off bad people in tights in the popular PC MMO. The studio name change will be reflected in NCSoft’s upcomingCity of Heroes: Architect Edition, which ships with all of the game’s content updates (up through “Issue 14”) and will be compatible with both Mac and PC.
City of Heroesoriginal developer, Cryptic Studios, is currently working onChampions Onlinefor PC and Xbox 360. We have to wonder if Paragon’s “devotion to the present and future of theCity of Heroesseries” involves consoles as well.
