I’ve made good use of Amazon Prime’s20 percent off discountfor video game pre-orders over the years. Sometimes, $60 feels a bit too steep to justify. But then I’ll notice the game in question listed for $48 with the Prime discount, and a silly switch is flipped in my brain. “Well, I’d be stupidnotto!”
As spotted by Cheap Ass Gamer, Amazon has added a couple more exceptions to Prime Savings.

The relevant part of the terms and conditions now reads: “[Pre-order savings offer] does not apply to certain video game products such as toys to life, collector’s editions, re-releases, re-masters, and product bundles including but not limited to console game bundles and accessory bundles.”
Some upcoming games that should be excluded likeShenmue I & IIstill offer Prime Savings, so we’ll have to see how this pans out in practice. Hopefully Amazon leaves the program alone for a while.
