The Merchant request feature was a new addition to theResident Evil 4remake I enjoyed quite a lot. The hunt for the kidnapped daughter of the US president was paramount to Leon — so long as he finds all those damn hidden medallions. TheSeparate WaysDLC forRE4 Remakealso includes a set of new Merchant requests, and here’s how to complete them all.
Keep in mind thatSeparate Waysis a much shorter adventure with fewer requests. Duringits brief runtime,Separate Waysoffers seven requests to complete and return to the Merchant. The first request won’t show until Chapter 2, so don’t worry about hunting down that elusive blue sheet until you make it to the village. But let us get through the list, stranger.
Merchant Request 1 – Destroy the Blue Medallions
Location: Chapter 2 – The Cliff area
We’re going ona medallion hunt! Again! If you have completed a Blue Medallion request in the base game, you shouldn’t find anything surprising here. Stand in the right spots and shoot every medallion you see.
Merchant Request 2 – Find the stolen jacket
Location: Chapter 3 – Factory
Did you ever wonder what happened to Leon’s jacket after he lost it in the base game? Well, wonder no more! It reappears as part of theJacket of All Trades request. It’s easy to find in the Factory.
Your reward: 5,000 pesetas and seven Spinel.
Merchant Request 3 – Destroy the Blue Medallions again
Location: Chapter 4 – Courtyard
Someone keeps hanging up these medallions, and that is not okay. In Chapter 4, you reach the Courtyard maze. Here is where you’re able to find and shatter five more medallions.Follow the stepsand you should sweep this one up in minutes.
With this, we’re about halfway through all the Merchant requests you can complete in theRE4 Remake Separate WaysDLC. Let’s keep it up and finish strong.
Your reward: Seven Spinel.
Merchant Request 4 – Hunt and sell the Lord of the Waterway
Location: Chapter 5 – Gergorio’s Waterway
It takes time tofinish this requestbecause Ada needs to drain the water in the waterway before continuing. Look for the entrance to a cave at the end of the waterway for a fish minding its own business. It’s the Lord of the Waterway’s secret identity. Kill the fish and sell it to the Merchant.
Your reward: 8,000 pesetas and eight Spinel.
Merchant Request 5 – Bug Buster 1
Location:Chapter 5 – Path of Penitence and nearby cliff areas
Three camouflaged Novistadors arehiding in Chapter 5of the game, and they must be terminated. One is in the Path of Penitence area, while another is clinging to the side of the nearby cliff. The third one is cheekily in between both areas above a tall staircase. Hunt them all and claim your prize.Hint: The bugs show up hot in the Biosensor Scope.
Merchant Request 6 – Sell two Ornate Beetles
Location: Chapter 6 – Factory 1
Welcome to the scariest Merchant request in all of theSeparate WaysDLC. To complete the ‘Sell two Ornate Beetles’ request in Chapter 6, you must find the bejeweled bugswhiledodging Regenerators. It’s an easier task if you managed to get the Biosensor Scope in the previous chapter.
Your reward: 24,000 pesetas and 10 Spinel.
Merchant Request 7 – Bug Buster 2
Location: Chapter 6 – Defensive Line
For the final Merchant request, we once again must track down and kill three camouflaged Novistadors. It’s a bit of a sketchy mission, considering you must dodge turrets and heavily armed Ganados. Regardless, finishing the request is doable so long as youfollow the steps. Remember that you can use the Biosensor Scope if you’re unable to see the hiding Novistadors.
Your reward: Nine Spinel.
