Hunting the Aether Current locations inFinal Fantasy XIVremains a notoriously tedious task throughout the Main Scenario Questlines, and they’re the biggest obstacle standing between you and flying.FFXIVadds Aether Currents to new zones in every expansion sinceHeavensward, but we’ve got tips and handy map resources to help you along.
Before you begin, remember thatFinal Fantasy XIVhas anAether Current Compassto help point you in the right direction. To find your Aether Compass, select Duty, then Collection, and finally drag and drop the compass onto your hotbar. Additionally, Aether Current progress is available via the Travel tab, then selecting Aether Currents.
HeavenswardAether Current Locations
You’ll begin attuning for flight inHeavensward, Version 3.0 ofFFXIV, and stuck just hoofing it until you’re done. There are four Aether Currents hidden throughout the field in every map, with another five locked behind MSQ or sidequest progression. The Aether Current locations span fiveHeavenswardareas, including Coerthas Western Highlands, The Dravanian Forelands, Sea of Clouds, Churning Mists, and The Dravanian Hinterlands.
