The millions of people playingMinecrafton consoles are well acquainted with the default character Steve — talk about merchandising might! — but on Wednesday they’ll have another option: Alex.
“Now, everyone loves Steve — he’s probably the most famous minecrafter in the world, and has excellent stubble,” wrote Mojang. “But jolly old Steve doesn’t really represent the diversity of our playerbase. For that reason, we’re giving all players opportunity to play with an Alex skin instead. She brings thinner arms, redder hair, and a ponytail; she actually looks a bit like [Minecraftdeveloper]Jensfrom certain angles.” Alex will be free.
The Simpsonsare headed to the PlayStation versions ofMinecrafton Wednesday as well, which is a good excuse to point you to thisgiant golden laughing Homer gif. That one’s a personal favorite of mine.
Lastly, Xbox 360 players can look forward to more tracks from musician C418 and 30 new Achievements to matchMinecrafton Xbox One.
